iThrea - Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2 June 2026 · Effective: 2 June 2026
In a sentence
iThrea does not sell personal information, run advertising or analytics SDKs, or upload your media library to jpfchang.org. Your configured servers, folders, credentials, and caches stay on your device unless you deliberately send information to support.
Who publishes iThrea
iThrea is published by Pengfan Chang as an independent developer. Contact: [email protected].
What the app does
iThrea is a media browsing and playback shell for libraries you choose. It can connect to Emby, WebDAV, or a rooted local folder. SMB appears as a roadmap source in the app but is not connectable in the current runtime.
What the app handles
Server and folder configuration
iThrea stores the backend type, server URL or local folder path, root path, display names, server names, and server versions in local app settings so it can restore your selected library.
Credentials and sessions
Emby and WebDAV usernames, passwords, and Emby session tokens are stored through platform secure storage. Local-folder connections do not store remote credentials. Tokens shown in diagnostics are designed to be redacted.
Media metadata and caches
iThrea can cache backend browsing metadata and WebDAV capability information in app-support storage on your device. These caches help restore and browse your library and are not uploaded to jpfchang.org by the app.
Network requests
Remote library requests go directly to the Emby or WebDAV endpoints you configure. Review the privacy practices of the server operator because those requests are governed by that server, not by jpfchang.org.
Local folder access
On desktop platforms, iThrea accesses the folder you choose. macOS uses sandboxed user-selected read-only access with security-scoped bookmarks. Windows and GNU/Linux restore a persisted path only after access revalidation.
Device unlock and biometrics
If you enable a device PIN or biometric unlock preference, the PIN preference is stored through platform secure storage. Face ID, Touch ID, and other biometric data are handled by the operating system and are not accessible to iThrea.
Subscriptions
iThrea subscriptions are processed by Apple through StoreKit. The app checks App Store entitlement status to unlock access. We do not receive your payment card number, billing address, or Apple Account password.
Support emails and diagnostics
If you contact support, we receive the information you send, such as your email address, description, screenshots, diagnostics, server names, root paths, or error messages. Send only the minimum information needed to reproduce the issue.
Apple diagnostics
If you opt in to Apple's Share with App Developers diagnostics setting, Apple may provide aggregated or de-identified crash and performance data. You control this in Apple platform privacy settings.
What we do not do
- -We do not sell personal information.
- -We do not use advertising SDKs, third-party analytics SDKs, or tracking SDKs.
- -We do not operate a hosted iThrea account service for storing your libraries, credentials, playback history, or media metadata.
- -We do not review your server configuration, local paths, diagnostics, or screenshots unless you deliberately send them to support.
App Store privacy label
Based on the current app implementation, iThrea's App Store privacy answer is Data Not Collected. This is because the app does not collect data through a developer-controlled service, analytics SDK, advertising SDK, or tracking SDK. User-initiated support emails are handled separately as support correspondence.
Your choices and rights
Most iThrea data is under your control because it is stored locally or on servers you choose. You can sign out in the app, remove saved credentials, delete local app settings by removing the app, revoke local-folder access through your operating system, disable Apple diagnostics sharing, or contact support to delete support correspondence where legally required.
For privacy questions or requests under applicable law, write to [email protected].
