ClambHook - Privacy Policy
Last updated: 15 June 2026 · Effective: 15 June 2026
In a sentence
ClambHook does not sell personal information. Profile data, local connection details, logs, and diagnostics stay on your device unless you explicitly export or send them.
Who publishes ClambHook
ClambHook is published by Pengfan Chang as an independent developer. Contact: [email protected].
What the app does
ClambHook is a powerful macOS network tool distributed from jpfchang.org for Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 14.0 or later. It helps different users manage different connection needs with local profiles, rules, status views, and diagnostics.
Public documentation describes ClambHook at a product level. Detailed setup information belongs inside the app or in direct support when needed.
What the app handles
Local network settings
ClambHook uses the profiles you configure to manage local network behavior. The app does not include advertising SDKs, third-party analytics SDKs, or tracking SDKs.
Profiles and rules
Profile text, rules, and setup details are stored locally on your device in the app or app-group container. They are not uploaded to jpfchang.org by the app.
Connection metadata, logs, and diagnostics
ClambHook can display local connection status, active profile state, rule state, counters, and recent logs. These details stay on your device unless you export them or send them to support.
Local authentication
If you enable inspection privacy, ClambHook uses Apple's LocalAuthentication framework to protect local Activity details. Touch ID, Apple Watch unlock, and biometric data are handled by macOS and are not accessible to ClambHook.
Keychain and settings
The app may store access tokens in Keychain and preferences such as refresh interval, retained log-line count, onboarding state, pinned connection IDs, and local file paths in app settings. This data is local to your device unless you export it.
License activation and device seats
When you activate a direct-sale license, jpfchang.org receives the license key for verification, an email address if provided, a generated install ID, display name, platform, architecture, app version, activation time, and deactivation state. License keys are hashed before storage. Profile contents are not uploaded for license activation.
Payments
ClambHook for macOS uses a USD 99.99 one-time license with optional USD 8.99 paid feature updates. Creem is the default checkout provider, and NowPayments may be used when enabled. Payment providers process payment details; jpfchang.org stores checkout IDs, order IDs, product IDs, license state, and purchase timestamps needed to deliver and support the license.
Support emails
If you contact support, we receive the information you send, such as your email address, description, screenshots, diagnostics, logs, or redacted sample profiles. Send only the minimum information needed to reproduce the issue.
Apple diagnostics
If you opt in to Apple's Share with App Developers diagnostics setting, Apple may provide aggregated or de-identified crash and performance data. You control this in macOS privacy settings.
What we do not do
- -We do not sell personal information.
- -We do not use advertising SDKs, third-party analytics SDKs, or tracking SDKs.
- -We do not operate a hosted ClambHook account service for storing your profiles.
- -We do not review your profiles, logs, or diagnostics unless you deliberately send material to support.
Your choices and rights
Most ClambHook data is under your control because it is stored locally. You can edit or delete profiles, clear local settings by removing the app, deactivate a licensed device before transfer, disable Apple diagnostics sharing, or contact support to delete support correspondence where legally required.
